The Hotels & Leisure Division of Goadsby have announced a successful end to 2017 with a number of hotel sales having been transacted.
Amongst these were the Balincourt Hotel, Bournemouth’s only 5 star bed and breakfast accommodation, and the prominently located 23 bedroom Liza Inn on the West Cliff of Bournemouth.
The multiple award winning Balincourt was sold after a successful 20 year ownership. Arranged as 13 high quality letting rooms, in addition to a private house to the rear of the premises built by the outgoing owners, the Balincourt was an ideal home and income opportunity. This was identified by the purchasers, an established hotelier family from Essex.
The sale of the 21 bedroom Liza Inn proved to be something of an international transaction with Russian owners selling to Turkish operators.
Divisional Director, Ian Palmer commented, “It was encouraging to be as busy as we were during the latter part of 2017 given the uncertain times we are in. However, this is a fair indication of how robust the Bournemouth hotel market remains with the confidence in that being reflected by increased enquiries and general activity levels”.
The Balincourt was sold off an asking price of £975,000 whilst the quoted figure for Liza Inn was £1.1 million.
