Spotlight on F and G Rated Properties

As the forthcoming MEES regulations are due to come into effect on 1st April next year the implications are beginning to hit home for many Landlords with F and G rated properties who need to improve the rating if they are going to re-let them after this deadline.

At Goadsby we manage properties for both commercial and residential Landlords and are working with them to help them to comply with the new laws.

Domestic Energy Assessor Charles Stone is looking after our residential properties and is engaged with reassessing those which are rated F or G and helping the owner plan any changes they need to make if the rating is still below the required level of band E.

Charles commented ‘ Due to improvements which may have already been made and also to fuel price and software changes around half of the properties which I am visiting are band E or above this time around without any extra work being needed. Some of those which were rated F or G had simply been incorrectly assessed in the first place. My role starts with an up to date assessment after which I am able to tell the owner exactly what changes if any they may need to make.’

If you need advice on the forthcoming regulations and how they might affect you please contact our Energy Assessors on 01202 550000 or charles.stone@goadsby.com.
